MEDIA RELEASE
Contaminated site given all clear 18 August 2010
Northeast Business Park has cleared another environmental hurdle with the removal of a portion of the site from the Queensland Government’s Contaminated Land Register. A 515 hectare portion of Northeast Business Park that previously contained an underground fuel tank and cattle dip has been given the all clear by the Queensland Government’s Department of Environment and Resource Management. The 12,000 litre fuel tank and the dip, near the original farm homestead on Nolan Drive have been removed. Thorough soil testing, involving 80 separate samples has confirmed no further decontamination work was necessary. Under the Northeast Business Park master plan, the area, known as Lot 10, will be home to much of the proposed business park, the heritage park and sporting fields. - ends- Peter Kelly Associate | Three Plus 3503 5700 | 0416 159 985 | |
