Northeast Business Park supports Caboolture Multicultural Festival

20 December 2010

International music, performance and international food stalls filled Caboolture’s Centenary Lakes Parklands to celebrate the region’s diverse cultures recently.

A proud supporter of the Caboolture Multicultural Festival, Northeast Business Park CEO Jeff Smith said he was excited that the North Harbour precinct would be built in a diverse community.

We were very proud to get behind this local event promoting multiculturalism, which aimed to foster understanding and acceptance of diverse backgrounds,” Mr Smith said.

More than 5,000 people attended the event that was opened by Moreton Bay Deputy Mayor Greg Chippendale and attended by Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan.

Mr Smith said the festival was great opportunity to recognise the region's many nationalities.

"More than 20,000 people in Caboolture are born overseas and that gives the region a true international flavour."

About 5000 residents speak a language other than English at home in the region, predominantly Samoan, German, Italian and Dutch.
