Caboolture Chamber backs North Harbour 12 May 2011 About 160 local business people were in attendance when Mayor Allan Sutherland and Cr Greg Chippendale fronted a Caboolture Chamber of Commerce meeting last month to speak about the Northeast Business Park project. The councillors addressed a packed room to outline their reasons for refusing to approve the marina and residential component of the project. Not one member of the audience spoke against the project and CEO Jeff Smith was delighted by the show of support. “The business community is satisfied that this project is going to be good for Caboolture and they want to see it happen, and I am sure the councillors heard that loudly and clearly tonight,” he said. “We’re disappointed that the Councillors refused to answer questions submitted earlier in writing on the grounds of legal advice.” Members posed questions from the floor and argued that Northeast Business Park would boost local business and reduce the region’s unemployment. - Ends-
