Welcome to this week’s North Harbour Blog. Like many of our North Harbour parents we’re looking forward to some time with the kids over the Easter break and with that in mind, we’ve gathered together a calendar of some of the biggest and best activities on in our beautiful Moreton Bay Region.
We’re kicking off on the first day of the school holidays with our very own Movie in the Park event and there are heaps of activities to choose from to follow: from fun at the Abbey Museum to sailing on Moreton Bay.
Saturday April 1st
North Harbour: Movie in the Park – Hunt for the Wilderpeople
We’ll be showing “Hunt for the Wilderpeople”, a PG-rated adventure/ comedy-drama film. Sam Neill and Julian Dennison play “Uncle” Hector and Ricky Baker, a father figure and son who become the targets of a manhunt after fleeing into the New Zealand bush.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople has had excellent reviews:
“Since its successful premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in America, Hunt for the Wilderpeople has become the all-time New Zealand box-office champion, and it’s easy to see why.” David Stratton, The Australian.
Empire magazine named it the best film of 2016, “It’s a small, charming, utterly delightful film…and deserves to take the world by storm!”
We’ll be showing the movie in our Village Park at North Harbour on the corner of Moreton Bay Boulevard and Stradbroke Street.
“Hunt for the Wilderpeople” is rated PG (parental guidance recommended). This is a boy’s adventure story with many of the familiar genre trappings, including guns, knives and dangerous animals. Running time: 1 hour 41 minutes

Children and youths aged 3-17 will have a great time discovering new activities, sport and challenges right here in the Moreton Bay Region for very little (if any) out of pocket cost. Younger participants can have fun trying free park activities, drum beats, hip hop dance, golf, circus skills, soccer, gymnastics, netball, rugby and tennis whilst high school students can challenge themselves with abseiling, archery, BMX racing, canoeing, high ropes, mountain biking and stand up paddle boarding.
And, if you haven’t been to North Harbour before, we’re well worth a visit if you’re in the market for awesome house and land packages at Burpengary! We will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday but open on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.
Our office and development are both extremely family friendly. We have a kids room with toys to keep little ones entertained. We have a coffee machine to keep parents going and an excellent park so the kids can run off some energy while you review our wide choice of house and land packages. (The Village Park has free Wifi too).
If you’d like to stay for a while longer, The Hub at Buckley Road offers plenty of good food options if you fancy bringing a picnic to the Village Park.
We hope you have an excellent Easter break, next week we’ll be back with more North Harbour news.
