Burpengary is hitting the national AFL stage with a pre-season match between the Brisbane Lions and the Sydney Swans as part of the JLT Community Series on Saturday March 3^rd at the Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex.

This massive event is being hosted by our community partner Moreton Bay Lions ASFC. The Lions’ state of the art AFL Precinct is located under five minutes from North Harbour, in the Moreton Bay region and has been described by AFL Chairman, Mike Fitzpatrick as having “the best community sporting facilities in Australia”. The Club has Senior, Women’s and Youth / Junior teams with plenty of on and off the field fun to be had.

This is big news for Burpengary and is sure to be a great day for the whole family. There’s no parking on site, but there’ll be free shuttle buses running from Morayfield State High School. Tickets allow access for the whole day, including the Councillors Cup curtain raiser. The Club canteen and bar will be running, with additional vendors on site with additional food and beverage options for purchase.

Then, the following week, Saturday March 10^th, the WAFL NAB Cup comes to Burpengary! The Brisbane Lions take on Collingwood in the 6^th round of the WAFL NAB Cup. Kick off is at 3:35pm and entry is FREE! Find out more about the WAFL NAB Cup here.
