The Federal Government’s HomeBuilder grant means that first home buyers could now be paying less than $350,000 for a brand-new home in this award-winning development. North Harbour Project Director Bryan Finney said the construction stimulus package was a “game changer’’ for many young families, both those looking to upgrade to a larger home and first home buyers.
“This is an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for first home buyers and also an extraordinary opportunity for anyone else upgrading to a new home,” Mr Finney said.
“First home buyers will save $40,000 on the cost of a new home by combining the $25,000 HomeBuilder grant and the $15,000 First Home Owner Grant,” he said.
“If you add in the extra savings over the life of a standard home loan, new home buyers will never get a break as good as this again.”
North Harbour house-and-land packages currently start at $389,900, which means an eligible first home buyer able to use both grants would pay only $349,900 for a brand new three-bedroom home with two bathrooms and a single garage.
The $25,000 HomeBuilder Grant also enables families wanting to upgrade to afford a larger home, in a great neighbourhood, for less. Four-bedroom, two-bathroom homes at North Harbour on a 400sqm block start at around the $430,000 mark. With the HomeBuilder Grant, this means that eligible buyers could be buying a new home for just over $400,000. In order to be eligible for the HomeBuilder Grant, as the name implies, you have to build new rather than buy an established home, and you will need to purchase land.
