North Harbour Celebrates Historic Dolphin Season

From backing the Dolphins before their first NRL game to cheering them on during their most successful season yet, North Harbour is proud to be part of the club’s remarkable journey.

The Dolphins have given rugby league fans across Moreton Bay plenty to celebrate in 2026, reaching the NRL finals for the first time and coming within one game of an historic Grand Final appearance.

For North Harbour, the milestone is particularly special, as we partnered with the Dolphins in November 2022 – months before the club made its NRL debut.

North Harbour Project Director Bryan Finney said watching the club achieve its most successful season to date had been a proud moment for everyone involved.

“We’ve been behind the Dolphins since before they played their first NRL game, so to see how far they’ve come in just four seasons has been incredible,” he said.

“Reaching the Preliminary Final is a huge achievement for a relatively new NRL team, and while they didn’t quite make it to the Grand Final, they’ve given the entire Moreton Bay community plenty to be proud of.”

The North Harbour partnership with the Dolphins has always been about more than rugby league, as we share a strong connection to Moreton Bay and a commitment to supporting the region’s growth and community spirit.

Bryan said that shared commitment to the region was what made the partnership such a natural fit.

“The Dolphins have deep roots in this part of Queensland, and that connection to the community is something we really value at North Harbour,” he said.

“Sport has an incredible ability to bring people together, whether it’s families watching a game at home, friends heading to Suncorp Stadium or neighbours getting together to cheer on their team.

“That’s very much what we’re about at North Harbour too, creating a place where people feel connected and proud to be part of their local community.”

The Dolphins’ 2026 campaign delivered a string of firsts for the club.

After finishing the regular season in third place, the team secured its first-ever NRL finals victory against the New Zealand Warriors, earning a home Preliminary Final at Suncorp Stadium.

More than 52,000 fans packed the stadium to watch the Dolphins take on the Sydney Roosters, with the team’s historic run ending just one win short of the Grand Final.

Despite the result, the season marked another significant step forward for the club and demonstrated just how far the Dolphins have come since entering the competition in 2023.

So what’s next?

With their first finals campaign now behind them, the Dolphins are already looking towards the 2027 NRL season.

And North Harbour will be cheering them on.
